How To Throw Your Own Oktoberfest Party!

Ladies and Gentlemen it is that time of year again; grab your dirndls and lederhosen. Don’t forget your Tyrolean hat! And get ready for Oktoberfest! Every year there is a large extravaganza held in Munich, Germany. This year (2011) Oktoberfest will run from September 17-October 3, 2011. All you do is go around from tent to tent and drink beer (lots of it) and eat food (lots of that too). You can ride amusement rides, like large swings, roller coasters, and Ferris wheels. You can tour through a haunted house, stop at different game booths. Slide down a water slide. This is literally a 16 day adult carnival celebration.

If you don’t plan on taking a trip to Munich, Germany any time soon you can travel to an Oktoberfest celebration close by or you can throw your own Oktoberfest Party in your own backyard. All you need is good food, good beer, and the right party decorations (allow us to help you out with that).

When throwing an Oktoberfest Party you’ll need the proper apparel. For all you ladies out there take a look at the Plastic Fraulein Vest. For the gentlemen out there we have a PartyCheap Exclusive Costume Lederhosen, or the Oktoberfest Vests.

As far as hats go we have plenty to choose from. You can wear (one of our most popular Oktoberfest sellers) the Green Velour Tyrolean Hat, the Green Velour Alpine Hat, the Forest Green Vel-Felt Alpine Hat, or the Oktoberfest Alpine Hat. If you are looking for a cheaper Alpine Hat take a look at the Assorted Plastic Alpine Hat with Feather or the Oktoberfest Harlequin Hi-Hat. For some funny hats, we have the Headscarf with Braids, the Plush Oktoberfest Barrel Hat, the Plush Beer Mug Hat, and the Plush Oktoberfest Chicken Hat. These are just a few of the Oktoberfest hats that we have available; we have a lot more in our Oktoberfest Costumes Category.

Believe it or not we also have suspenders for Oktoberfest! So if you are partying, and you are having trouble holding up your pants we have Oktoberfest Suspenders and Beer Mug Suspenders.

We have buttons to wear too! It’s All About the Beer Button, Official Beer Tester Button, and our personal favorite, Kiss Me I’m German.

If you want something to throw around your neck we have the Blue Beads with Oktoberfest Medallion, I Pretzel Beer Oktoberfest Beads, Official Beer Tester Oktoberfest Beads, and the Oktoberfest Beads with Mug. If you are looking for some simpler beads to hand out to your guests we have Blue Party Beads, which are sold 12 party beads per package and White Party Beads, which are also sold 12 party beads per package.

Since we have what you’re wearing to your Oktoberfest covered now we need to move onto decorating your room. Let’s start with your table, cover your tables with the Oktoberfest Tablecover, and the Oktoberfest Table Roll. You can even decorate your fruit and cheese tray with the German Flag Picks, and the Oktoberfest Picks. Set your table with the Oktoberfest Paper Plates, the Blue and White Oktoberfest Lunch Plates, Oktoberfest Lunch Napkins, and Oktoberfest Hot/Cold Cups. If you are looking for real glasses to hold your beer we have we have Beer Bottle Glasses. Purchase a couple of the Oktoberfest Pop-Over Centerpieces and set them on your tables. We also have the Oktoberfest Centerpiece, the Beer Mug Centerpiece, the German Flag Cascade Centerpiece, and the Mini German Flag Cascade Centerpiece.

Now that we have your table decorations covered let’s work on hanging Oktoberfest decorations up from the ceiling and hanging Oktoberfest cutouts on the walls. You can start with the Oktoberfest Decorating Kit; this kit has a little bit of everything in it.

Starting with the hanging Oktoberfest decorations we have the Metallic Foil Oktoberfest Banner, the Oktoberfest Whirls, the Oktoberfest Stringer, the Oktoberfest Danglers, the Oktoberfest Cascade Hanging Column, and the Oktoberfest Shimmering Spiral, or the Oktoberfest Shimmer Garland. Or you can just hang up the Jumbo Oktoberfest Whirl up too. There is a giant pretzel at the top that looks yummy enough to eat! If you are looking to decorate a small corner section of your room use the Oktoberfest Party Canopy.

We have some great Oktoberfest cutouts that you can hang on your wall or door. You must take a look at the Beer Stube Sign, Jointed Mr. Oktoberfritz, Jointed Oktoberfest Fraulein, Bavarian Sign Cutout, Bavarian Flag Cutout German Flag Cutout, Oktoberfest Beer Hall Cutout, and the yummy looking Pretzel Cutouts. Don’t be fooled there are also Beer Stein Cutouts too, these look like real beer steins, but they are not, they are only made of a cardstock material.

Now that we have your party decorations covered allow us to help you plan a little with what you’ll be eating and drinking. It is traditional to have beer at your Oktoberfest Party, but if you don’t drink alcohol don’t worry you can supply your guests with non-alcoholic beer, root beer, or any soda. We would like to suggest to you some things to eat during your Oktoberfest Party. In Germany during Oktoberfest they have grilled chicken halves, possibly duck or goose, roasted pork, potato dumplings with red cabbage, roast ox tails, grilled pork knuckles, steamed white veal sausages with sweet mustard, sauerkraut, warm potato salad, potato soup, pretzels, and bread rolls. If these food choices don’t have your mouth watering consider sugar glazed almonds, glazed fruits, cotton candy, and ice cream. So, if you want to have an authentic Oktoberfest party you can offer your guests all of these food choices or just a couple of these food choices especially if you have some picky eaters coming to your party.
