How to Decorate for a Mardi Gras Party

It is time to get ready for Mardi Gras! Grab your beads, put on some green, gold, and purple, and head on down to New Orleans. (Even though Mardi Gras is celebrated all over the world with different customs and traditions.) Mardi Gras is French for Fat Tuesday, or Shrove Tuesday, and it is the day before Lent begins, which is also known as Ash Wednesday. Mardi Gras will fall this year on March 8, and there are usually two whole weeks worth of parades leading up to this one day.

Do you know what the green, gold, and purple colors of Mardi Gras mean? Purple means justice. Green means faith. And gold means power.

You can’t celebrate Mardi Gras without a few party essentials. The first must have for Mardi Gras are beads, beads, beads. You’ll either need beads to wear or to throw.
